Police Investigate Brawl at Denny’s in Upstate NY After Fight Video Goes Viral
NY law enforcement may want to reopen an investigation of a violent brawl at a Denny’s restaurant in Upstate New York after a cell phone video of the altercation went viral on the Internet.
The fight occurred around 4:20 a.m. at the Denny’s located on Wolf Road in Colonie, New York. According to media reports, numerous people got into a brawl at the Upstate NY Denny’s and began throwing punches and generally causing mayhem inside the restaurant.
The violent incident resulted in property damage to the restaurant, with the brawlers reportedly overturning tables and chairs and shattering dinner plates on the ground. Fortunately, nobody sustained any serious injuries in the brawl and no one required medical attention at a hospital.
The Colonie Police Department received a 911 call about the altercation and dispatched police officers to the scene. Remarkably, Colonie NY cops did not make any arrests or issue any citations in connection with the scuffle.
A man using the online screenname “Nick Nack Paddiwack” later posted a cell phone video of the fight on the popular social media website Facebook. The video shows two females attacking another female and using their fists to hit the victim in the head several times.
Since the Denny’s fight video was put on the Internet, it has garnered almost four million views, been shared more than 40,000 times, and generated national media headlines. Now that the Denny’s brawl is getting more and more attention, the Colonie Police Department is being asked tough questions about why they did not arrest anyone. Thus far, police have not released an incident report about the violent incident because they reportedly want to maintain the privacy of some of the people involved in the fight.
